Plant City Sweeps Best of Rhode Island Awards

Plant City has received multiple titles in the recently-released Best of Rhode Island awards, including Best New Restaurant in Providence and Rhode Island. Plant City was also named Best Healthy Restaurant in Providence thanks to its fully plant-based menus and offerings.

Plant City is the only vegan restaurant or business to be named in this year’s award.

While a newcomer to Rhode Island having opened in the of summer 2019, Plant City stands out as the world’s first plant-based food hall. Visitors can choose from four restaurants by internationally-acclaimed chef Matthew Kenney, in addition to a fully equipped coffee bar, marketplace, and two event venues.

In order to keep up with demand, Plant City recently launched online ordering and delivery. Orders can be placed in advance through the company’s website or custom app, or called in over the phone. Groceries and to-go orders are then picked up curbside or delivered within a 10-mile radius.

In addition to remaining open when many restaurants are shuttering due to the pandemic situation, Plant City has grown and expanded. The new patio takeout window adds another way for Rhode Islanders to enjoy Plant City. Diners can also make reservations in advance for either the indoor or outdoor seating areas, both of which offer a choice of menus from multiple restaurants. Safety being a top concern, socially distanced dining and contactless delivery and pickup continue to be conveniently available.

Plant City looks forward to continuing to provide Rhode Islanders with nutritious, sustainable foods and groceries, whatever the occasion.
